History of
Purifect Technology

In the 1990’s, Dr. Paul Savage (Brigham Young University) cracked the code of our innate immune system.

He was studying molecules known as Antimicrobial Peptides (AMPs) and discovered how their killing mechanisms work.  With this understanding, he was able to create a simple, stable, and inexpensive molecule that imitates AMPs germ killing, wound healing, and immune-system-recruiting behaviors.

This profoundly innovative new class of antimicrobials is called Ceragenins. Within this new class, Purifect Technology (formerly called cationic selective antimicrobials or CSA’s) has been shown to be effective against: MRSA, C-Diff, Shigella, Herpes, E-coli, and Scours. All Ceragyn products are made with Purifect Technology.
